The Vehicles

Did you know...... To try and do our bit for the environment, our diesel vehicles are run on HVO to help reduce our emmisions.

Have a look through what we've got to offer and decide on what you think will make the biggest impact at your event.

(I know there isn't a huge selection to choose from right now, but I am always on the lookout for more vehicles to add to the collection. And as more join, they will become available to hire once they've been checked through and smartened up slightly.)

Did you know......... Our petrol powered vehicles have had their fuel systems slightly upgraded to be able to run on E10 petrol to help reduce our emissions. This has been achieved by replacing any rubber and gaskets in the fuel system with newer ones that can handle the acidic effect of E10.

Also, please know that all vehicles are in working condition. So they will have dents, scrapes, scuffs and repairs. I might give them a lick of paint or a polish to help protect and preserve them, but ultimately, they're in the condition they were decommissioned from the MOD in. And I think that help give them character.

(But this also means that they might not be user friendly, so please be careful when near them)

Bedford Green Goddess Fire Appliance

Nothing says military like a 4x4 lorry. The Bedford RLHZ is a 4-wheel drive lorry that was built for the AFS (Auxillary Fire Service) from 1953-1956. It is capable of carrying a crew of 6. Fitted with a straight 6 petrol engine, these were capable of reaching speeds of 65mph with your foot flat to the floor. This one is almost fully kitted out from its time as a fire-fighting unit and is still fully operational. If you're curious as to what kind of kit these used to carry, then booking this vehicle for an event is the best way to find out.

FV103 Spartan

Obviously, I'd have to have at least one vehicle on tracks. The Spartan is a tracked armoured personnel carrier and part of the CVR(T) (Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked)) family of military vehicles for the British Armed Forces and was built back back in the 1970's. The Spartan was used for more specialised teams (anti-aircraft, mortor launchers, SAS, etc) than for general infantry. Capable of carrying a crew of 7. This one is fitted with the 6ltr cummins engine, so though it doesn't have the same acceleration as the petrol Jaguar engine, it still has enough get-up-and-go for the job. I've tried to get as much of the original radio gear as i can to go back inside it. And I can assure you that being inside this vehicle will give you an idea for what it's like to be in the military. Want to be the talk of the town or have your event be remembered for years to come? The I suggest hiring this vehicle, because nothing says "My event was unique and memorable" than by having a tank there! (Oh alright, an APC)

Land Rover 101 Forward Control

When you think of British military vehicles, a Land Rover does come to mind. And this Land Rover is 100% military. The 101 was built only for the British Army between 1972 and 1978. It was designed as a gun tractor. So basically its job is to pull a feild gun round while carrying 1tonne of ammunition. This vehicle is powered by a gutsy 3.5ltr Rover V8. Giving the vehicle plenty of poke for its size. And of course, the old Rover V8 has a great sound track to it too. This has the off-road capabilities of a tractor, and the aerodynamics of a wall. A true British military vehicle. This vehicle is guarranteed to turn heads when seen/heard. If you just need a small vehicle to help make your event memorable, then you can't go too far wrong with a 101.

Series 1 Minerva

For those of you who aren't aware, this is a Land Rover. It's a series 1 from the early 1950's (making this the oldest vehicle in the group at the moment). It was sent to the Belgian motor company Minerva as a running chassis where they fitted their own steel shell for the Belgian military. She has very low mileage for her age and is quite a sweet little thing to look at too.
